Mirror Lamp Press is a free quarterly arts magazine created by Gwen Burlington that focuses on Irish artistic practice in Ireland and abroad. Paul has been commissioned to design the publication.*
From the editors:
"Each issue explores the intersection of art and literature through newly commissioned texts and selected works of an illustrator or visual artist. It lives in the digital sphere and has been designed to be read online, with each issue made available as a freely downloadable PDF.
We publish writing on and around contemporary art that we feel is well-researched, thoughtful, surprising, playful and in some cases experimental. We are dedicated to working with our commissioned writers in a way that is open, receptive, and dedicated to embracing their authorial voice. Therefore, we do not have a house style. Our editorial focus is primarily about writing and ideas, and debate and analysis, because we believe that high quality critical engaged writing doesn’t act as a substitute for looking at art but should act as a stimulant to the reader; encouraging them to look more closely at art themselves. Ultimately, MLP has a collective sense of ownership by being shaped, not only by the editorial team, but by the writers, readers, artists, designers and partner organisations who are dedicated to building a vibrant writing culture around Irish artistic practice."
